Life With Magic

JAKE HOFMAN

I grew up in Los Angeles and was presented with my first magic kit at 10 years old. Most people take interest in magic and drop it at this age; however… after performing in front of a crowd in junior high and watching them run away in disbelief, I realized the power of a deck of cards was too great to let go. I chose to stay with the art and mastered sleight of hand

Over the years, I’ve built my magic brand from the ground up - performing at birthday parties, private events, school functions, corporate gigs, restaurants and more. I specialize in strolling magic as I’ve found close-up magic to be the most impactful. There’s something special about creating wonder just inches from someone’s eyes. Magic has brought me to incredible people and unforgettable reactions. There’s nothing like placing a moment of pure astonishment right into someone’s hands!

Jake is not your average magician, he was a student athlete who played varsity football and baseball in his early years at John Marshall and La Cañada High School. Hofman attended Pasadena City College for two very involved years, and now currently attends Stanford University.

Hofman has dedicated over 200 hours to volunteer service, much of it performing magic for patients at Huntington Hospital - especially the kids in pediatrics. Years earlier, Hofman found himself at Huntington after a life-threatening event, an experience that shaped his commitment to giving back. For two years, Hofman returned to the same halls, using close-up magic to lift spirits, spark laughter and help patients momentarily escape the weight of their illnesses. He was featured in the magazine in 2023 for being 1 of 3 to win the National Volunteer Spotlight out of over 1500+ volunteers.

My goal… “bring joy, create connection and remind each person that even in difficult moments, wonder is still possible.”

GIVING BACK GOES A LONG WAY…

GLOBAL MAGICIANS HALL OF FAME - RISING STAR AWARD

In July of 2025, the very first ever Global Magicians Hall of Fame took place in Las Vegas by the Los Angeles Tribune. I was fortunate enough to be selected as their Rising Star and inducted into the Hall of Fame. I humbly give my thanks to the Magic Castle, the AMA Junior Program and to all those that have been with me along this magical journey. I am truly honored.
